​I have always been artistic even when I was little, playing with color and drawing. But I discovered I wanted to become a graphic designer when I was in middle school. I went on a field trip to the Elkhart Area Career Center and I got to see the graphic design class. I saw what the students there were doing and immediately thought, "I want to learn how to do that.". It was what I was looking for, something that involves my creativity and problem solving brain.

Now I can say I learned "how to do that". I took what graphic design classes I could at my high school, and then joined the graphic design program at the Elkhart Area Career Center as a junior. I stayed there till I graduated and soaked up all I could about being a graphic designer. I had a social media internship my junior year, but ended up finding a graphic design internship at a cabinet company my senior year. I have been with that company since then.

Today I am now working on earning my Bachelor's in Visual Communication Design at Grace College and Theological Seminary. I have learned so much since that field trip as an eighth grader, and cannot wait to see where this passion for design takes me!
